In today's Gospel by Matthew Jesus tells his disciples that they are the light of the world. As I sit looking out the window, I think about the length of daylight at this time of year, over 13 hours. Plants and flowers bloom and grow with the sunlight. Farmers are able to spend extra hours in the fields planting and tending to their crops. The light is a gift from God to us.
Jesus tells us "your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father." We are the light that helps others grow -- by our words and by our actions -- and they help us to grow. Sometimes we don't even realize how our light helps others. So don't hide your light under the basket, let it shine for all.
What sky do we light up so that others may find their way?
